CONTEMPORARY
Civil society institutions and government agencies are increasingly
taking up water harvesting projects in rural areas. There had been
many initiatives where the traditional water harvesting practices
have been modified depending upon the domestic and irrigation needs
of the local community. This section is a glance at such improvisations
initiated by the communities in different parts of the country.
