Communication for Awareness
CSE uses several communication strategies to establish networks among government officials, mass media and concerned citizens worldwide. Some widely-used communication tools include India’s only science and environment fortnightly, Down To Earth magazine, which reaches almost all districts in the country; the State of India’s Environment reports (SOE); an environment Feature Service; Press Briefings; Fellowships and Workshops for journalists; several newsletters on health, water harvesting, climate change, and one for children.

The Internet is also extensively used to spread awareness. The comprehensive CSE Website carries news and announcements about the Centre’s activities. CSE also uses several advanced interactive Internet-based tools including e-mail bulletins, listserv and message boards.

CSE's Environmental Resource Unit’s online
Library is among India’s most comprehensive environmental resource. It contains thousands of books, journals, specialised news clippings, and also stills, films and videos.
