GREEN SCHOOLS AWARD
November 2006

The Gobar Times Green Schools Award will mark the final stage of the Green Schools Programme. The award would be given out annually by the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), New Delhi.

Its objective is to acknowledge and reward top schools from among all those which are taking part in the programme across the country. It goes to the schools that emerge as the best managers of natural resources within their own premises. In other words, those, which are found to be the ‘most environmentally responsible’ institutions among their peers.

All Gobar Times Green Schools Programme participants have to undergo a simple yet rigorous self –audit. They rate themselves, following a set of guidelines formulated by CSE. The award is not merely a one time prize, but a step towards making a life long commitment to using, nurturing and protecting the resources on this planet.
