Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), New Delhi
Professor Emeritus at the Centre for Development and Rural Technology, IIT-Delhi and
former Director of the Malaria Research Centre, New Delhi, Dr Sharma has undertaken
extensive research on waterborne diseases. He has also held the position of Additional
Director General of the Indian Council of Medical Research.
Dr Sharma will chair the first session in 'Water, sanitation and health'. He is also a
speaker.

Sam Godfrey
UNICEF, Bhopal
Dr Godfrey is a Programme Officer with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in
Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh. His areas of expertise include water quality monitoring, risk
assessment and management. He has co-authored a book titled Water Safety Plans (WSP) for
Urban Piped Water Supplies in Developing Countries.

Dr Sudersanan is the Chairperson of the BIS' Water Sectional Committee, which is
responsible for setting standards for drinking water. He was formerly the Head of
Analytical Chemistry at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre in Mumbai.

Industrial Toxicology Research Centre (ITRC), Lucknow
Dr Dubey is the Head of the Aquatic Toxicology Division at the ITRC. His areas of
specialisation include evaluation of toxicity due to water pollution and the fate of
pollutants both in the environment and in human beings.
