The CSE Lab analyses the following groups of widely used pesticides in India

Chlorinated hydrocarbons such as DDT, DDD, DDE, g-HCH, lindane, aldrin, dieldrin, a, b - endosulphan, endosulphan sulphate and heptachlor, etc.

Organophosphorus pesticides like dimethoate diazinon, phosphamidon, methyl parathion malathion, monocrotophos, chlorpyriphos etc.

Carbamates like carbaryl, carbofuran, aldicarb, oxamyl, methomyl etc.

Herbicides such as Atrazine, paraquat, 2,4-D, Butachlor, simazine, glyphosate, dalapon, diuron, isoproturon, alachlor, pendimethalin, trifluralin, Clodinafop-propargyl, fenoxaprop-ethyl

Fungides like Maneb, Thiram, Zineb, Tridemorph, captan, tridemorph, tricyclazole, carbendazin, mancozeb, sulfur, ziram, captafol

Synthetic pyrethroids like Deltramethrin, cypermethrin, fenvalrate, fluvalinate


Samples from the following media are analysed:

Water - river, ground and drinking water

Soil - adjoining residential areas and areas in proximity to agricultural fields

Food commodities -
     - Dairy products viz. milk, butter, ghee, eggs;
     - Crops - cereals, vegetables and fruits,
     - Mutton, fish and chicken 
     - Edible oils, spices
     - Packaged, processed and tinned food-bread, infant formula, fruits and vegetables, jam,
       jelly, juices and dry fruits

Human tissues
     - Blood
     - Fat
     - Breast milk 
     - Industrial effluents

Color , PH, Turbidity, Conductivity, Hardness, Total solids, Total dissolved solids. Total suspended solids, Oil and Grease, acidity, alkalinity, Chemical Oxygen Demand, Biological Oxygen Demand, Dissolved Oxygen

Inorganic
Chloride, fluoride, bromide, nitrite, nitrate, carbonates, phosphate, sulphate Sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, etc. Other inorganic substances can be tested such as iodide, cyanide, carbonate, bicarbonate, etc.

Organic
Volatile organic compounds, polyaromatic hydrocarbons, phenols and pesticides

Metals
Mercury, chromium, iron, cobalt, copper, manganese, zinc, aluminum, nickel, lead, etc.

Other contaminants in different commodities
Aflatoxins, Artificial sweeteners, carbohydrates, etc.
